Who we are

Rumi is made by Tsumida AI, a small software studio in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This page adds the Rumi details to the Tsumida AI privacy policy, and wins where the two differ. Questions: [email protected].

What we collect

• Your account: your email address and a password. We store only a scrambled form of the password (scrypt), never the password itself.
• What you send for a house: your photos and videos, the chat you paste (if you do), and your answers (your names, the occasion, a line about you two, what to leave out).
• The house we make: the finished world, with smaller copies of the photos it uses.
• The basics every server sees: your IP address on each request, used to deliver it and to slow down anyone trying too many passwords. We do not keep it with your account.

Photos often carry hidden details like the date and the place they were taken. We read the date and rough place to put your rooms in order, and every image we show is a fresh copy without that hidden data.

How we use it

Only to make your house and run your account: to make the rooms, the scenes and the little people, to show the house to you, and to email you when it is ready or if something went wrong. We do not use your photos, videos or chat for anything else, and we do not use them to train AI models.

AI and the people who make it

Each house is made by us with the help of an AI model, Claude by Anthropic. It looks at your photos and reads your chat to work out the places, the moments and how you two talk. Anthropic processes it to give us the answer, under its own privacy policy. While a house is being made, a copy of what you sent sits on our own computer, and it is deleted as soon as the house is done.

Who else handles it

• Cloudflare (R2 storage and our network): stores your uploads and your house, privately.
• Amazon Web Services (Tokyo): runs our server and keeps our backups.
• Anthropic: the AI model that helps make the house.
• Resend: sends our emails.

Each one handles your information only to provide that service to us. We never sell or rent your information, and there are no ads, analytics or tracking kits on Rumi.

How long we keep it

Your original uploads and chat: deleted 7 days after your house is ready (counted from the last change you make to it). Your finished house: until you delete it. Everything else is on the Your data page.

Other people in your photos

Your house is about the two of you, and often other people show up too. Please only send photos and messages you have the right to share, and that the people in them would be happy to see in a tiny house.

Kids

Rumi is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can see, download, fix or delete what you sent us, and ask us any question about it. Most of it you can do yourself in My houses; for the rest, email [email protected]. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your local privacy regulator.

Changes

If we change this page in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you by email before it takes effect.
